Job Description

Are you eager to learn a variety of practical skills and kickstart a hands-on career? Total Property Services Manawatu is looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Handyman’s Helper to join our growing team. This is a fantastic entry-level opportunity for someone with little to no experience, ready to learn directly from experienced tradespeople. You’ll assist with a wide range of tasks, from basic repairs and maintenance to assisting on larger renovation projects, gaining valuable knowledge and practical experience every day. Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting skilled tradespeople with various tasks on job sites.
  • Preparing work areas, including setting up and cleaning tools and equipment.
  • Carrying materials and ensuring tools are organized and accessible.
  • Learning and performing basic repairs under supervision, such as patching holes, painting, and simple installations.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
  • Following instructions and actively participating in all training opportunities.
  • Adhering to all health and safety regulations.

Required Skills

  • Eagerness to learn and a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Reliability and punctuality.
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Good physical condition and ability to lift and carry materials.
  • Basic understanding of safety practices (or willingness to learn immediately).
  • Strong work ethic and initiative.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Valid New Zealand Restricted or Full Driver's License.
  • Basic familiarity with common hand tools.
  • Previous experience in a physical role (e.g., labourer, factory work) is a plus, but not required.
