Job Description
Are you eager to learn a variety of practical skills and kickstart a hands-on career? Total Property Services Manawatu is looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Handyman’s Helper to join our growing team. This is a fantastic entry-level opportunity for someone with little to no experience, ready to learn directly from experienced tradespeople. You’ll assist with a wide range of tasks, from basic repairs and maintenance to assisting on larger renovation projects, gaining valuable knowledge and practical experience every day. If you have a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and a desire to build a career in the trades, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting skilled tradespeople with various tasks on job sites.
- Preparing work areas, including setting up and cleaning tools and equipment.
- Carrying materials and ensuring tools are organized and accessible.
- Learning and performing basic repairs under supervision, such as patching holes, painting, and simple installations.
- Maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
- Following instructions and actively participating in all training opportunities.
- Adhering to all health and safety regulations.
Required Skills
- Eagerness to learn and a positive, can-do attitude.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Good physical condition and ability to lift and carry materials.
- Basic understanding of safety practices (or willingness to learn immediately).
- Strong work ethic and initiative.
Preferred Qualifications
- Valid New Zealand Restricted or Full Driver's License.
- Basic familiarity with common hand tools.
- Previous experience in a physical role (e.g., labourer, factory work) is a plus, but not required.
