Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and reliable Gym Locker Room Cleaner to join our team in Shrewsbury. This vital role ensures our locker rooms, changing areas, and showers are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene, providing a safe and pleasant experience for all our members. You will be responsible for a range of cleaning tasks, focusing on sanitation and tidiness. While previous experience is a plus, we welcome enthusiastic individuals eager to learn and will provide full training. As a valued member of our team, you’ll also enjoy a free PureGym membership!
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize all locker rooms, shower areas, and changing facilities thoroughly.
- Stock and replenish essential supplies such as toilet paper, hand soap, and paper towels.
- Empty waste bins and dispose of rubbish in accordance with company procedures.
- Sweep, mop, and disinfect floors daily.
- Clean and polish mirrors, fixtures, and fittings.
- Monitor and report any maintenance issues or damage in the locker room areas.
- Ensure all cleaning products are stored safely and correctly.
- Adhere to all health and safety guidelines and company cleaning protocols.
- Maintain a friendly and professional demeanor when interacting with gym members and staff.
Required Skills
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high standards of cleanliness.
- Reliable, punctual, and a good work ethic.
- Ability to manage time effectively to complete tasks.
- Basic understanding of hygiene and sanitation practices (training provided).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a cleaning or housekeeping role, preferably within a commercial or hospitality environment.
- Knowledge of various cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.
