Job Description
We are seeking a highly reliable and discreet Government Archival Transport Driver to join our secure logistics team. This critical role involves the safe and confidential transportation of sensitive archival materials for various government agencies within the Fulham and greater London area. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the integrity and security of all transported items, adhering to strict protocols and maintaining detailed records. A clean driving record and impeccable background are absolutely essential for this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely and securely transport government archival materials between designated locations.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicles to ensure roadworthiness and compliance with safety standards.
- Verify manifests and inventory lists against items loaded and unloaded, ensuring accuracy and accountability.
- Adhere strictly to established security protocols, routes, and schedules.
- Maintain detailed logs of all transport activities, including mileage, routes, and delivery confirmations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and security personnel regarding transport progress and any unforeseen issues.
- Handle all materials with extreme care and confidentiality.
- Represent G4S with professionalism and integrity at all times.
Required Skills
- Valid UK driving license (Category B minimum)
- Demonstrable clean driving record (no points, no major accidents)
- Proven ability to pass stringent background checks and security clearances
- Excellent sense of responsibility and attention to detail
- Strong understanding of road safety regulations
- Ability to follow precise instructions and protocols
- Good physical condition to handle loading/unloading of archival boxes
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in secure transport or logistics roles
- Previous experience working with sensitive government materials
- Enhanced security clearance (or ability to obtain one rapidly)
- Familiarity with the London road network
