Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Geotechnical Engineer to join our dynamic team in Aberdeen. In this pivotal role, you will contribute to a diverse portfolio of projects across the energy, infrastructure, and industrial sectors. You will be responsible for providing expert geotechnical advice, conducting detailed analyses, and developing innovative solutions to complex ground engineering challenges. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct geotechnical investigations, site characterization, and ground risk assessments.
  • Perform complex geotechnical analyses, including foundation design, slope stability, settlement analysis, and retaining wall design.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports, specifications, and proposals.
  • Provide expert geotechnical input to multi-disciplinary project teams.
  • Manage projects, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to required quality standards.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to their professional development.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, codes of practice, and health and safety regulations.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies.

Required Skills

  • BEng or MEng in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Chartered Engineer status (CEng) or actively working towards it.
  • Proven experience in geotechnical design and analysis for energy or infrastructure projects.
  • Proficiency in geotechnical software (e.g., PLAXIS, Oasys Suite, Slope/W).
  • Strong understanding of Eurocodes and relevant UK design standards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD in Geotechnical Engineering.
  • Experience with offshore geotechnics or renewable energy projects.
  • Project management certification (e.g., PRINCE2).
  • Experience in client management and business development.
