Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Geotechnical Engineer to join our dynamic team in Corner Brook, Newfoundland and Labrador. This is an exceptional opportunity for professionals looking to contribute to significant infrastructure and development projects across the region. The successful candidate will be involved in all phases of geotechnical engineering, from site investigation and analysis to design and construction support. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct geotechnical investigations, including planning, supervision of drilling and test pitting, and laboratory testing programs.
- Perform geotechnical analysis and design for various projects, including foundations, slopes, retaining structures, and excavations.
- Prepare comprehensive geotechnical reports, proposals, and specifications.
- Provide construction-phase geotechnical engineering support and field reviews.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary project teams and liaise with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
- Utilize geotechnical software for analysis and design.
- Mentor junior engineers and technical staff.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering from an accredited institution.
- 2+ years of relevant geotechnical engineering experience.
- Eligibility for P.Eng. licensure in Newfoundland and Labrador.
- Strong understanding of soil mechanics, foundation engineering, and geological principles.
- Proficiency with geotechnical analysis software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering.
- Experience with projects in challenging ground conditions or cold regions.
- Familiarity with Canadian building codes and design standards.
- Project management experience.
