Job Description

Sentara Healthcare is actively seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Gastroenterology Doctor to join our dynamic team in Virginia Beach. This exceptional opportunity offers full relocation assistance and comprehensive visa sponsorship for qualified international candidates. The successful candidate will provide expert diagnostic and therapeutic services for a wide range of gastrointestinal disorders, contributing to our mission of delivering outstanding patient care in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and treat a variety of gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary diseases.
  • Perform endoscopic procedures including EGD, colonoscopy, and ERCP (if skilled).
  • Manage patient care both in an outpatient clinic and inpatient hospital setting.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and collaborate with other specialists.
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical records.
  • Provide patient education on GI conditions and preventive care.
  • Engage in continuous professional development and medical education.

Required Skills

  • Medical Doctor (MD/DO) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology.
  • Successful completion of an accredited Gastroenterology fellowship program.
  • Valid medical license or eligibility for licensure in the state of Virginia.
  • Excellent clinical, diagnostic, and communication skills.
  • Commitment to patient-centered care and ethical medical practice.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in an academic or large hospital setting.
  • Proficiency in advanced endoscopic procedures (e.g., EUS, ERCP).
  • Interest in clinical research or teaching.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems, particularly Epic.
