Job Description
Are you a strong, reliable, and customer-focused individual looking for a dynamic role where your hard work is directly rewarded? Pacific Home Furnishings is seeking enthusiastic Furniture Delivery Porters (Mates) to join our Yakima delivery team. In this vital role, you will be the face of our company, working alongside a professional driver to ensure the safe, efficient, and courteous delivery and setup of furniture in our customers’ homes. This position involves heavy lifting and requires a positive attitude and a commitment to excellence. No prior experience? No problem! We provide comprehensive training to ensure you succeed.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the delivery driver with loading and unloading furniture items from the delivery truck.
- Safely and carefully transport furniture into customers' homes, navigating various entry points and potential obstacles.
- Perform basic furniture assembly and setup according to manufacturer instructions and customer preferences.
- Inspect furniture for damage before, during, and after delivery, reporting any issues promptly.
- Provide exceptional customer service, answering questions and ensuring a positive delivery experience.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies while on the job.
- Maintain a clean and organized delivery truck.
- Communicate effectively with the delivery driver, dispatch, and customers.
Required Skills
- Ability to safely lift and maneuver heavy items (up to 100+ lbs regularly) with assistance.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Customer-centric attitude with a friendly and professional demeanor.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Physical stamina and endurance for a demanding role.

- No prior experience required; full training provided!
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous experience in a physically demanding role (e.g., warehousing, moving, construction).
- Familiarity with basic hand tools and furniture assembly.
- Knowledge of the Yakima and surrounding areas.
