Job Description
We are seeking a reliable and physically fit Furniture Assembly Hand to join our casual team in Shepparton. In this role, you will be responsible for the efficient and careful assembly of various furniture items, either for customer orders or showroom display. No need to bring your own equipment – all necessary tools will be provided. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a practical mindset and an eye for detail who enjoys working with their hands. Full training will be provided to ensure you meet our high standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately and efficiently assemble furniture items according to manufacturer instructions.
- Inspect components for damage or defects before and during assembly.
- Ensure assembled furniture meets quality standards and is free from blemishes.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to 5S principles.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures, including manual handling techniques.
- Assist with the movement of furniture items within the warehouse or showroom as required.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to meet daily assembly targets.
- Provide clear communication regarding assembly progress or potential issues.
Required Skills
- Basic proficiency with hand and power tools (e.g., screwdrivers, wrenches, drills).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow complex instructions accurately.
- Good physical stamina and ability to lift and move furniture items safely (up to 20kg).
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn and adapt.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with furniture assembly, DIY projects, or similar hands-on work (personal experience welcome).
- A valid Australian Driver's License.
- Basic understanding of workplace safety practices.
- A friendly and customer-focused approach, as occasional customer interaction may occur.
