Job Description
Are you looking for an opportunity to join a dynamic team in the frozen food sector? Sysco Canada in Corner Brook is seeking dedicated individuals to join us as Frozen Food Boxing Operatives. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals who are reliable, detail-oriented, and capable of working in a fast-paced, temperature-controlled environment. Full training will be provided to ensure you have all the skills needed to succeed in this role. We offer a premium shift allowance to recognize your commitment to our critical operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately and efficiently box and package frozen food products according to company standards and customer specifications.
- Inspect products for quality and integrity before packaging.
- Operate basic packaging machinery and tools after receiving proper training.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Assist with inventory management and product rotation as required.
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily production targets.
Required Skills
- Ability to work effectively in a cold storage environment (freezer/cooler).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene principles (training provided).
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
- Good manual dexterity and physical stamina.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse, production, or manufacturing environment (not required, but an asset).
- Familiarity with inventory systems or scanning equipment (training provided).
