Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Federal Financial Aid Processor to join our Education Department. This crucial role involves managing and processing federal financial aid applications, ensuring compliance with all governmental regulations, and providing exceptional support to students navigating their financial aid options. The successful candidate will play a vital role in helping students access the funding necessary to pursue their education, contributing directly to their success and the college’s mission.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process federal financial aid applications accurately and efficiently, adhering to all deadlines.
  • Verify student eligibility for various federal aid programs, including grants, loans, and work-study.
  • Interpret and apply federal regulations and college policies related to financial aid.
  • Maintain meticulous records of all financial aid transactions and communications.
  • Communicate effectively with students regarding their application status, required documentation, and aid options.
  • Collaborate with other college departments to ensure seamless financial aid disbursement and student support.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with federal financial aid policies and procedures.
  • Assist with audits and reporting requirements as needed.

Required Skills

  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and processing.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Previous experience working in a post-secondary educational institution.

  • Knowledge of Canadian federal financial aid programs and regulations.
