Job Description
Are you passionate about working with your hands and eager to learn about farm machinery? Kimberley Agribusiness is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Farm Mechanic Assistant to join our team in Broome. This is an entry-level opportunity designed for individuals with little to no prior experience in mechanics. We provide all necessary tools and comprehensive on-the-job training to help you develop valuable skills. You will work alongside experienced mechanics, assisting with the maintenance, repair, and servicing of a wide range of agricultural equipment. Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior mechanics with routine maintenance and repairs of farm machinery.
- Learn to identify mechanical issues and contribute to diagnostic processes.
- Clean, organize, and maintain tools and the workshop area.
- Perform basic tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and filter replacements under supervision.
- Support in the assembly and disassembly of equipment components.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.
- Participate actively in training sessions and continuous learning opportunities.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used.
Required Skills
- A strong willingness to learn and develop mechanical skills.
- Reliability and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team.
- Basic understanding of safety procedures and mechanical environments.
- Physical stamina to handle manual tasks and work outdoors in varying conditions.
- Ability to commute to our workshop facility in Broome.
Preferred Qualifications
- A valid Australian C-class driver's license.
- Basic experience with hand tools (personal projects, hobbies, etc.).
- A genuine interest in agriculture or machinery.
- Forklift license (or willingness to obtain one).
