Job Description
Are you an early riser with a passion for animals? Wide Bay Agricultural Group is seeking enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join our team as Farm Animal Feeders for morning shifts. No prior experience in farming or animal care is required; we are dedicated to providing comprehensive on-the-job training to ensure your success. This entry-level role is crucial to the daily well-being of our livestock, ensuring they are fed, watered, and comfortable. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and distribute feed and water to various farm animals according to established schedules and dietary requirements.
- Monitor animal health and well-being, reporting any unusual behavior, illness, or injuries to the farm supervisor immediately.
- Clean and maintain feeding areas, water troughs, and animal enclosures to high standards of hygiene.
- Assist with moving animals between pens or pastures as directed.
- Operate basic farm equipment safely after receiving appropriate training.
- Maintain accurate records of feed consumption and animal observations.
- Adhere to all animal welfare guidelines and farm safety protocols.
Required Skills
- Reliability and punctuality for morning shifts, including weekends on a rotational basis.
- Strong work ethic and a willingness to learn new skills.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- A genuine love for animals and a commitment to their welfare.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills for reporting observations.
- No prior experience required – full training will be provided.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current valid Australian driver's license and reliable transportation to the farm location.
- An understanding of basic animal care principles (non-essential, but a bonus).
- Flexibility to work additional hours during peak seasons if needed.
