Job Description
Are you looking for an opportunity to kickstart a career in a hands-on, dynamic environment? Levy Show Services is seeking enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join our team as an Exhibition Carpet Layer (Mate). This is an entry-level position where no prior experience is required – we provide full, comprehensive training on the job! You will work indoors as part of a crew, preparing and laying carpet for various events and exhibitions, ensuring a high-quality finish for our clients. If you’re physically fit, eager to learn, and enjoy working as part of a team, this could be the perfect role for you.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist experienced carpet layers in preparing exhibition floors.
- Measure, cut, and lay carpet tiles and broadloom according to layout plans.
- Safely handle and transport carpet rolls and other materials around the exhibition venue.
- Prepare surfaces, including sweeping and cleaning, before carpet installation.
- Ensure precise alignment and secure installation of all flooring.
- Assist with tear-down and removal of carpeting after events, including loading materials onto trucks.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Operate basic tools and equipment under supervision.
- Work collaboratively with the team to meet project deadlines and client expectations.

Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
- Previous experience in a general labour or construction environment is a plus, but not required.
