Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Entomologist / Pest Control Scientist to join our research and development team in Boise, Idaho. This role involves conducting advanced research, developing innovative pest management strategies, and providing scientific expertise to support our product development. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in entomology, a passion for solving complex agricultural challenges, and a commitment to sustainable practices. This position is open to qualified candidates, and Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) can be provided for eligible international applicants.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct field and laboratory research to study insect behavior, population dynamics, and resistance patterns.
  • Design and implement experiments to evaluate the efficacy of new pest control products and methodologies.
  • Analyze research data, interpret findings, and prepare comprehensive scientific reports and presentations.
  • Develop integrated pest management (IPM) strategies tailored to various agricultural systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including chemists, agronomists, and regulatory affairs.
  • Provide technical expertise and training to internal staff and external stakeholders.
  • Stay abreast of the latest scientific advancements in entomology and pest control.

Required Skills

  • Ph.D. or Master's degree in Entomology, Agricultural Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in entomological research or pest management.
  • Demonstrated expertise in insect identification, biology, and ecology.
  • Proficiency in experimental design, statistical analysis, and data interpretation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to conduct fieldwork in various conditions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with specific agricultural pests relevant to the Idaho region (e.g., aphids, wireworms, potato beetles).
  • Familiarity with regulatory guidelines for pesticides and pest control products.
  • Experience in grant writing or project management.
  • Proficiency with GIS software or other geospatial analysis tools.
