Job Description
Borderland Metalsmiths is seeking a highly skilled and meticulous Engraver to join our dedicated team. This pivotal role involves creating precise and aesthetically pleasing engravings on a wide variety of metal surfaces, including brass, copper, stainless steel, and aluminum. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating advanced engraving machinery, interpreting design specifications, and ensuring the highest quality finish on all custom projects. Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain computer-controlled (CNC) and manual engraving machines with precision.
- Interpret technical drawings, design specifications, and client briefs for engraving projects.
- Prepare metal surfaces for engraving, including cleaning, polishing, and masking as required.
- Select appropriate tools, bits, and settings for various metal types and desired finishes.
- Perform quality control inspections to ensure accuracy, depth, and overall aesthetic appeal of engraved items.
- Collaborate with the design and fabrication teams to optimize engraving layouts and techniques.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
- Troubleshoot and perform minor maintenance on engraving equipment.
- Document project details, material usage, and production processes.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in operating engraving machinery (CNC and/or manual).
- Exceptional attention to detail and precision craftsmanship.
- Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings and design files (e.g., CAD/CAM software basics).
