Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Educational Psychologist to join our dynamic team in Elliot Lake, Ontario. This vital role involves conducting comprehensive psychological assessments, designing and implementing effective interventions, and providing expert consultation to schools, parents, and other professionals. The successful candidate will play a crucial part in supporting students’ academic progress, social-emotional well-being, and overall development. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments for children and young people experiencing a wide range of learning, social, emotional, and behavioral difficulties.
  • Interpret assessment results and provide clear, concise feedback to parents, educators, and other stakeholders.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate evidence-based interventions tailored to individual student needs.
  • Provide consultation and professional development to school staff on inclusive practices, behavior management, and strategies to support diverse learners.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, including teachers, parents, social workers, and medical professionals, to ensure holistic support.
  • Contribute to the development of psychological services and resources within the organization.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records in accordance with professional and ethical guidelines.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and supervision.

Required Skills

  • Master's or Doctoral degree in Educational Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Registered or eligible for registration with the College of Psychologists of Ontario (or equivalent regulatory body in home country, with commitment to obtain CPO registration).
  • Proven experience (minimum 2 years) in conducting a range of psychological assessments and formulating intervention plans.
  • Excellent knowledge of child development, learning theories, and evidence-based psychological practices.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and report writing skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working within a Canadian educational system.
  • Fluency in French (an asset but not required).
  • Experience with specific therapeutic approaches (e.g., CBT, ACT).
  • Membership in relevant professional associations (e.g., CPA, OPA).
