Job Description
We are seeking an inspiring and experienced Early Years / Kindergarten Manager to lead one of our vibrant nurseries in Leicester. This is a unique opportunity for a passionate leader to make a significant impact on children’s early development and staff progression. You will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the nursery, ensuring high standards of care and education, effective team management, and compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, inspire, and develop a team of early years practitioners, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Oversee the planning and delivery of a rich and stimulating curriculum in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
- Ensure the nursery maintains outstanding standards of care, education, and safeguarding, adhering to all Ofsted requirements.
- Manage the nursery budget, resources, and occupancy levels effectively.
- Build strong, positive relationships with children, parents, and external agencies.
- Implement and review nursery policies and procedures, promoting a safe and inclusive environment.
- Conduct regular staff appraisals, provide professional development opportunities, and manage recruitment processes.
- Handle parental enquiries and concerns professionally and promptly.
Required Skills
- Full and relevant Level 3 childcare qualification or higher (e.g., Early Years Educator, BA in Early Childhood Studies).
- Proven experience in a leadership or management role within an early years setting (e.g., Deputy Manager, Room Leader).
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of the EYFS framework and Ofsted requirements.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Strong organizational and administrative abilities.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and best practice in early years.
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in Early Childhood Studies or equivalent.
- Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) qualification.
- Experience managing budgets and financial reporting.
- Pediatric First Aid certification.
