Job Description
We are seeking reliable and physically capable individuals to join our team as a Dock Hand for the afternoon shift at our Werribee distribution centre. This crucial role involves the efficient and safe movement of goods within the dock area, including loading and unloading trucks, sorting freight, and preparing orders for dispatch. Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently load and unload goods from delivery vehicles, containers, and trucks.
- Verify incoming and outgoing shipments against manifests and packing lists.
- Sort, stack, and organise freight in designated dock areas.
- Operate pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other manual material handling equipment.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment on the loading dock.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies, including proper lifting techniques.
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and truck drivers.
- Assist with inventory counts and quality checks as required.
- Ensure timely movement of goods to support warehouse operations.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Reliability and punctuality for afternoon shift schedules.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Basic understanding of workplace safety practices.

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment is a plus (but not required).
- Experience operating a manual pallet jack.
- Current forklift license (LF or LO) is advantageous but not mandatory.
