Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Distribution Center Manager to lead operations at our state-of-the-art facility in McKinney, TX. This critical role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of distribution center operations, including inbound and outbound logistics, inventory management, associate development, and maintaining a safe, productive work environment. The ideal candidate will be a strategic leader with a proven track of optimizing processes and fostering a culture of excellence. Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of supervisors and associates, fostering a culture of safety, engagement, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee daily distribution center operations, ensuring efficient processing of inbound merchandise, accurate inventory management, and timely outbound shipments.
- Implement and maintain best practices for warehousing, material handling, and logistics, driving operational excellence and cost efficiency.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions to achieve productivity, quality, and safety targets.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, as well as federal, state, and local regulations related to safety, labor, and transportation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including merchandising, transportation, and HR, to optimize supply chain flow and address operational challenges.
- Manage the distribution center budget, controlling expenses and identifying opportunities for cost reduction.
- Drive initiatives related to technology adoption, process automation, and facility enhancements to improve overall efficiency and capacity.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in distribution, logistics, or supply chain management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Proven ability to manage large teams in a fast-paced distribution center environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities.
- Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Demonstrated understanding of safety regulations and best practices in a logistics setting.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a related field.
- Certification in Lean Six Sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience with automated material handling equipment and robotics.
