Job Description
Are you passionate about making a positive difference in people’s lives and eager to kickstart your career in disability support? Harmony Care Services is offering an exciting Disability Support Intern position within our dedicated team in Tuggeranong, ACT. This is a unique opportunity for individuals with little to no prior experience to gain hands-on training, learn the intricacies of NDIS standards, and develop essential skills in providing person-centred support. We are looking for empathetic, reliable, and enthusiastic individuals committed to learning and growth. Full training and mentorship will be provided, ensuring you are equipped to confidently support our clients in an on-site setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Learn and apply NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Framework requirements in daily practice.
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks, under supervision.
- Support clients in community participation, social outings, and engaging in recreational activities.
- Contribute to the implementation of individual support plans, monitoring progress and reporting observations.
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records and documentation.
- Collaborate effectively with team members, clients, and their families to ensure coordinated care.
- Participate actively in all training sessions, workshops, and team meetings.
- Adhere to all organisational policies and procedures, including health and safety guidelines.

- Basic computer literacy for record-keeping.
- Ability to pass a Police Check and obtain a Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) check (or equivalent).
Preferred Qualifications
- Current Australian Driver's License and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Current First Aid and CPR certificates (or willingness to obtain).
- Currently enrolled in or recently completed a relevant certificate (e.g., Cert III or IV in Disability, Individual Support).
