Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dietitian / Clinical Nutritionist to join our dynamic healthcare team. This vital role involves providing expert medical nutrition therapy to patients across various inpatient and outpatient settings. The successful candidate will assess nutritional status, develop and implement individualized nutrition care plans, and educate patients and their families on healthy eating and disease management. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments for patients, considering medical history, lab values, and dietary intake.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized medical nutrition therapy plans based on patient needs and medical conditions.
- Provide nutrition education and counseling to patients and their families on topics such as disease-specific diets, weight management, and healthy lifestyle choices.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals as part of an interdisciplinary team.
- Document nutritional care accurately and timely in electronic health records.
- Participate in departmental and hospital-wide quality improvement initiatives.
- Stay current with the latest evidence-based nutrition research and clinical practice guidelines.
Required Skills
- Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential or eligibility for registration in the U.S.
- Bachelor's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to educate diverse patient populations.
- Proficiency in electronic health record systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated knowledge of medical nutrition therapy for various disease states.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field.
- Experience in an acute care hospital setting.
- Specialty certification (e.g., CDE, CNSC, CSR).
- Fluency in multiple languages.
