Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dietitian / Clinical Nutritionist to join our dynamic healthcare team. This is a unique opportunity for qualified professionals, including recent graduates or those from international backgrounds, as sponsorship is available. You will play a crucial role in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nutritional care for patients across various clinical settings. You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes, provide nutrition education, and contribute to evidence-based practice. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments for patients, including medical history, dietary intake, and anthropometric data.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized nutrition care plans based on patient needs, medical conditions, and cultural considerations.
- Provide evidence-based medical nutrition therapy for various conditions, such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, renal disease, and gastrointestinal disorders.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers on therapeutic diets, healthy eating principles, and nutrition-related health management.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals as part of an interdisciplinary team.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, program development, and research activities.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care in accordance with professional standards and organizational policies.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of staff and community nutrition education programs.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Eligibility for registration with the College of Dietitians of British Columbia (CDBC) or an equivalent regulatory body in your home country with a clear path to Canadian registration.
- Strong understanding of medical nutrition therapy and evidence-based practice.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record systems and standard office software.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a related field.
- Previous clinical experience in an acute care or community health setting.
- Experience with diverse patient populations and cultural competencies.
- Additional language proficiency is an asset.
