Job Description
Join the Amazon team as a Delivery Van Unloader for morning shifts at our Port Kells warehouse dock. This is a crucial entry-level role responsible for efficiently receiving and processing incoming packages from delivery vans. You will be part of a dynamic team dedicated to maintaining the smooth flow of our operations, ensuring that goods are ready for the next stage of delivery. Full training will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to start a career in logistics and warehousing.
Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently unload packages and parcels from delivery vans and trucks.
- Sort and stage incoming items according to established procedures and routing.
- Operate manual pallet jacks and other basic warehouse equipment safely.
- Ensure accuracy of received items against manifests or delivery notes.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment on the dock and in the staging areas.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures at all times.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to meet daily productivity goals.
- Report any discrepancies or damaged packages immediately to a supervisor.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Strong work ethic and reliability, especially for morning shifts.
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
- Basic understanding of safety procedures or willingness to learn quickly.
- Excellent punctuality and attendance.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail for accurate sorting and handling of packages.
- No prior experience required; comprehensive training will be provided.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or physically demanding role.
- Familiarity with manual pallet jack operation.
- Experience working morning shifts or early hours.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
