Job Description

Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior cybersecurity analysts with daily network security monitoring and incident response activities.
- Support the preparation and execution of internal and external security audits, helping to identify vulnerabilities and compliance gaps.
- Learn to analyse network traffic and security logs for suspicious activity and potential threats.
- Contribute to the documentation of security procedures, policies, and audit findings.
- Participate in vulnerability scanning and penetration testing efforts, under supervision.
- Research emerging cybersecurity threats, best practices, and innovative security technologies.
- Provide basic support for security tool configurations and maintenance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to implement security controls and recommendations.
Required Skills
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree program in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Strong foundational understanding of computer networking principles (TCP/IP, routing, firewalls).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Eagerness to learn and a proactive attitude towards new technologies and challenges.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated interest in cybersecurity through coursework, personal projects, or self-study.
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic understanding of security concepts such as cryptography, authentication, authorization, and intrusion detection.
- Familiarity with common operating systems (Windows, Linux) and command-line interfaces.
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) is a plus.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CCNA Security) are a bonus but not required.
