Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Cybersecurity Analyst to join our team in Sudbury, Ontario. You will be responsible for monitoring security systems, responding to incidents, conducting vulnerability assessments, and implementing security best practices. Key Responsibilities
- Monitor security systems, including SIEM, IDS/IPS, and firewalls, for alerts and anomalies.
- Investigate and respond to security incidents, analyze root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and address security weaknesses.
- Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of cybersecurity policies, procedures, and standards.
- Conduct security awareness training for employees to promote best practices.
- Stay informed about the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies.
- Collaborate with IT and development teams to integrate security into system design and development lifecycles.
- Prepare detailed reports on security incidents, vulnerabilities, and overall security posture.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in network protocols and security architecture (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, Firewalls).
- Understanding of operating systems (Windows, Linux) and their security configurations.
- Familiarity with common cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001).
- Experience with security tools such as SIEM, vulnerability scanners, and endpoint protection.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CySA+, CEH, or equivalent.
- Experience with cloud security principles (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, PowerShell) for automation.
- Prior experience with incident response and forensic analysis.
