Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Customs Clearance Assistant to join our Federal Logistics team in Goulburn. In this vital role, you will support the efficient processing of customs documentation, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and facilitating the smooth movement of goods. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with foundational administrative skills looking to build a career in customs and logistics within a dynamic global company.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and process customs declarations and related documentation for import and export shipments.
- Verify the accuracy and completeness of shipping documents, including invoices, packing lists, and certificates of origin.
- Liaise with customs authorities, carriers, and clients to resolve any discrepancies or issues.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of customs regulations, tariffs, and trade agreements.
- Accurately input data into customs clearance software and internal tracking systems.
- Assist in the calculation of duties, taxes, and other charges.
- Provide administrative support to the customs clearance team as required.
Required Skills
- Minimum 1 year of experience in an administrative or office support role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Sound problem-solving capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a logistics, freight forwarding, or customs environment.
- Knowledge of Australian Customs and Border Protection Service procedures.
- Tertiary qualification in business, logistics, or a related field.
