Job Description
Join Cambridgeshire County Council as a Crossing Patrol (Lollipop Person) and play a vital role in ensuring the safety of children and pedestrians crossing roads, particularly around schools, in Ely. This is a rewarding community-focused position where your presence makes a real difference every day. Full training and equipment will be provided to successful candidates.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely stop traffic at designated crossing points to allow pedestrians, especially children, to cross the road.
- Clearly display the 'stop' sign to oncoming traffic.
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and motorists.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines.
- Report any incidents or concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
- Maintain a visible and reassuring presence in the community.
