Job Description
Join our team as a Craft Beer / Bottle Shop Advisor and become an integral part of our vibrant evening operations. This role is perfect for an enthusiastic individual with a passion for craft beer and a desire to provide exceptional customer service. You will guide customers through our diverse selection, offering recommendations, sharing knowledge about different styles, and ensuring a friendly and efficient shopping experience. This position focuses on evening shifts, contributing to a lively and approachable atmosphere in our bottle shop.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with customers to understand their preferences and provide personalized recommendations for craft beers and other bottled products.
- Share knowledge about craft beer styles, breweries, pairing suggestions, and new arrivals.
- Process transactions accurately using our point-of-sale system.
- Assist with stocking shelves, maintaining product displays, and ensuring the shop is clean and organized.
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues courteously and efficiently.
- Promote responsible service of alcohol and adhere to all provincial regulations.
- Contribute to a positive and friendly team environment.
- Perform opening and closing duties as required for evening shifts.
Required Skills
- Previous experience in customer service or retail, preferably in a fast-paced environment (minimum 6 months).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Ability to work evening shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Basic knowledge of various alcoholic beverages, particularly an interest in craft beer.
- Ability to lift and carry merchandise up to 25 lbs (11 kg).
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
Preferred Qualifications
- Smart Serve certification (or willingness to obtain it promptly).
- Previous experience in a bottle shop, brewery, or hospitality setting.
- Demonstrated passion for craft beer and a desire to learn more.
- Ability to speak French is an asset.
