Job Description

We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our team as a Clam / Oyster Shucker (Trainee). This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for those with no prior experience in shucking. We provide comprehensive training to equip you with the skills needed to expertly shuck clams and oysters in a fast-paced, wet environment. Your compensation will be based on a piece-rate system, rewarding your efficiency and skill development. Key Responsibilities

  • Participate actively in a structured training program to learn proper clam and oyster shucking techniques.
  • Develop speed and efficiency in shucking while maintaining product quality and minimizing waste.
  • Adhere strictly to all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Work safely and efficiently in a wet, refrigerated environment.
  • Handle shucking tools and equipment properly and safely.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation throughout the shift.
  • Inspect shellfish for quality and freshness before and after shucking.
  • Follow supervisors' instructions and company procedures.
  • Package shucked product according to specifications.

  • Ability to work in a wet, cold, and physically demanding environment for extended periods.
  • Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.

  • No prior experience in shucking is required; full training will be provided.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
