Job Description
Are you a cat lover seeking a rewarding part-time role in a friendly environment? Bunbury Furry Friends Cattery & Spa is looking for a dedicated and gentle Cattery Hand to join our team for day shifts. This is an easy-going role perfect for individuals who enjoy interacting with animals and maintaining a clean, happy space for them. No prior cattery experience is required, as full training will be provided. Key Responsibilities
- Provide daily feeding and fresh water to all feline guests according to their specific dietary needs.
- Clean and disinfect cattery enclosures, litter trays, and common areas to maintain high hygiene standards.
- Monitor the health and well-being of cats, noting any changes in behavior, appetite, or physical condition.
- Administer medications as directed by senior staff (after full training).
- Engage in playtime and social interaction with cats to ensure their mental and physical stimulation.
- Maintain inventory of food, litter, and supplies, reporting needs to management.
- Assist with guest check-ins and check-outs, ensuring a smooth transition for cats and owners.
Required Skills
- Genuine love and compassion for cats.
- Reliability and punctuality for scheduled shifts.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
- Basic observational skills to monitor animal health.
- Comfortable with physical tasks including bending, lifting light weights, and standing for periods.
- Excellent attention to detail for maintaining cleanliness and adherence to feeding schedules.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience volunteering or working with animals.
- Basic understanding of feline behavior and welfare.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- First Aid certification for animals (desirable, but not essential).
