Job Description
Are you a cat lover with a passion for hospitality? The Purrfect Sip Cat Café is seeking enthusiastic and caring individuals to join our team as a Cat Café Host / Barista. In this unique role, you will be the friendly face greeting our guests, expertly preparing their favorite coffee and tea beverages, and ensuring a clean and harmonious environment for both our patrons and our resident cats. This position is perfect for someone who thrives in a relaxed, animal-friendly atmosphere and enjoys making every visitor’s experience memorable.
Key Responsibilities
- Warmly greet and welcome all guests, providing an exceptional and informative experience regarding our café and cat lounge rules.
- Prepare and serve a variety of high-quality coffee, espresso, tea, and other non-alcoholic beverages according to café standards.
- Educate guests on safe and respectful interaction with the cats, ensuring the well-being and comfort of our feline residents.
- Monitor the cat lounge to ensure a calm and clean environment for both cats and guests, gently enforcing house rules as needed.
- Process customer orders and payments accurately using our POS system, handling cash and card transactions.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café, cat lounge, and restrooms throughout the shift.
- Assist with basic cat care duties, including monitoring food and water levels, scooping litter boxes, and general observation of cat health and behavior.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations and a positive atmosphere.
- Restock supplies, maintain inventory, and assist with opening and closing procedures.
Required Skills
- Genuine love for cats and a strong understanding of animal welfare.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a calm demeanor.
- Strong attention to detail for beverage preparation and cleanliness standards.
- Reliability and punctuality are essential.
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new tasks and procedures.
- Must be comfortable standing for extended periods and lifting up to 25 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a café, hospitality, or customer service role.
- Prior experience handling or caring for animals.
- Basic knowledge of coffee and tea preparation techniques.
- Food handler's permit (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
