Job Description
Are you a compassionate individual looking to make a meaningful difference in someone’s life? Home Instead is seeking caring and reliable Caregivers/Companions to provide non-medical support to seniors in the Mississauga community. No prior certification is required to start, as we provide comprehensive training to equip you with the skills you need. This role offers flexible hours, allowing you to create a schedule that fits your lifestyle while providing essential companionship and assistance to our cherished clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide companionship and engage in stimulating activities (e.g., puzzles, reading, conversations)
- Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming (if applicable and trained)
- Perform light housekeeping duties including laundry, vacuuming, and tidying up
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding as needed
- Provide medication reminders
- Accompany clients to appointments and run errands
- Document care services and report any changes in client condition
Required Skills
- Compassionate and empathetic nature
- Reliable and punctual
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow care plans and instructions
- Patience and understanding
- Legal eligibility to work in Canada
- Ability to pass a criminal background check
Preferred Qualifications
- Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle
- Previous experience in caregiving or a related field (personal or professional)
- First Aid and CPR certification
