Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Cardiovascular Technologist to join our dynamic team at Centerpoint Medical Center. This is a unique opportunity for qualified professionals, including international candidates, as visa sponsorship is available for eligible applicants. As a Cardiovascular Technologist, you will perform diagnostic cardiovascular procedures, assisting physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac and peripheral vascular diseases. You will operate specialized equipment, prepare patients for procedures, and ensure accurate record-keeping. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and a compassionate approach to patient care. Key Responsibilities
- Perform various diagnostic cardiovascular procedures, including echocardiograms, vascular ultrasound, and stress tests, according to established protocols.
- Prepare patients for procedures, explaining the process, obtaining medical histories, and ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Operate and maintain specialized ultrasound and cardiovascular diagnostic equipment, ensuring optimal image quality and equipment functionality.
- Assist cardiologists during invasive and non-invasive procedures, as required, maintaining a sterile environment.
- Accurately document patient data, procedure results, and pertinent observations in electronic health records.
- Monitor patients during procedures, recognizing and reporting any changes in their condition to the medical team.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Participate in quality assurance activities and maintain compliance with all hospital policies and regulatory standards.
Required Skills
- Completion of an accredited Cardiovascular Technology program.
- Current ARDMS (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) or CCI (Cardiovascular Credentialing International) certification (e.g., RDCS, RVT, RCIS).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Strong understanding of cardiovascular anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
- Proficiency in operating cardiovascular diagnostic equipment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to patient safety and quality care.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Cardiovascular Technology or a related field.
- One year of experience as a Cardiovascular Technologist in an acute care setting.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems, particularly Meditech.
