Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Cardiac Catheterization Lab Nurse to join our highly skilled team at Hendrick Medical Center. This is an exceptional opportunity for an enthusiastic Registered Nurse looking to specialize in cardiac care, with full sponsorship available for qualified candidates. In this vital role, you will be instrumental in assisting with diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures, providing pre-, intra-, and post-procedure patient care. You will work closely with cardiologists, technicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes in a fast-paced and high-stakes environment. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for cardiac catheterization procedures, including assessment and education.
- Assist cardiologists during diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures.
- Monitor patient vital signs, ECG, and hemodynamic parameters during procedures.
- Administer medications safely and accurately as prescribed by the physician.
- Provide post-procedure care, monitoring for complications, and patient recovery.
- Document all aspects of patient care accurately and thoroughly.
- Maintain a sterile environment and ensure proper functioning of equipment.
- Collaborate effectively with the interdisciplinary team to optimize patient care.
- Participate in on-call rotation as required.
Required Skills
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas or eligibility for licensure.
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
- BLS and ACLS certification upon hire or within a specified timeframe.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment.
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
- Basic understanding of cardiac anatomy and physiology.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in an acute care setting (e.g., ICU, ER, Telemetry).
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- PCCN or CCRN certification is a plus.
