Job Description
Join our vibrant team as a Canteen Assistant, where you’ll play a crucial role in providing nutritious and appealing meals to students and staff within school and sports club environments. Key Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation, ensuring adherence to recipes and dietary requirements.
- Serve food and beverages to students, staff, and club members with a friendly and efficient demeanor.
- Operate cash register, handle transactions, and reconcile daily takings.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the canteen, kitchen, and dining areas.
- Assist with stock rotation, inventory checks, and receiving deliveries.
- Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations and company policies.
- Contribute to a positive and welcoming atmosphere for all patrons.
Required Skills
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Basic numeracy skills for handling cash transactions.
- Willingness to learn and follow instructions.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a catering, hospitality, or retail environment (advantageous but not essential).
- Current ACT Working With Vulnerable People (WWVP) card or willingness to obtain one.
- Food Safety Certificate Level 1 (or willingness to obtain).
