Job Description
We are seeking dedicated and hardworking Cable Layer Labourers to join our infrastructure team in Gungahlin. This is a full-time position offering high pay and a consistent Monday to Friday schedule. You will be instrumental in expanding and maintaining our crucial telecommunications network, working outdoors in various conditions. If you’re physically fit, reliable, and eager to contribute to essential infrastructure projects, we encourage you to apply. Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the excavation, laying, and backfilling of trenches for cable installation.
- Handle and lay various types of telecommunication cables (fibre optic, copper) following specifications.
- Operate hand tools and basic machinery (e.g., jackhammers, plate compactors) safely and efficiently.
- Prepare work sites, including setting up safety signage and barriers.
- Perform general labouring duties as required to support the cable laying team.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and site-specific regulations.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment.
Required Skills
- Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of safety procedures on construction or outdoor sites.
- Valid Australian Driver's License (manual preferred).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a labouring or construction role.
- White Card (General Construction Induction Card).
- First Aid Certificate.
- Experience with operating small plant machinery.
