Job Description
Are you a highly motivated and physically fit individual looking for a challenging yet rewarding role in the construction industry? Lendlease is seeking dedicated Brickie’s Offsiders to join our dynamic teams on various projects across the Gold Coast. This role is crucial for supporting our skilled bricklayers, ensuring they have the materials and assistance needed to deliver high-quality work efficiently. While previous experience is a plus, we are primarily looking for individuals with a strong work ethic, a commitment to safety, and the physical capability to handle the demands of a busy construction site. This is an excellent opportunity to learn the trade from experienced professionals and build a career in construction.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist bricklayers by preparing and mixing mortar and cement
- Move bricks, blocks, and other materials around the site as required
- Ensure the worksite is clean, tidy, and safe at all times
- Set up and dismantle scaffolding and work platforms under supervision
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working order
- Follow all site safety procedures and protocols diligently
- Load and unload materials from deliveries
- Perform general labouring duties as directed by the site supervisor or bricklayers
Required Skills
- Excellent physical fitness and stamina
- Ability to perform strenuous tasks repeatedly
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Capacity to work effectively in a fast-paced outdoor environment
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and efficiently
- Basic understanding of construction site safety
- Team player with a positive attitude
Preferred Qualifications
- Current Construction Induction Card (White Card) for Queensland
- Previous experience in a similar labouring or construction role
- Knowledge of various building materials and their handling
