Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Biomedical Technician to join our growing team in Port Macquarie. This is a full-time, stable position offering the opportunity to work with a diverse range of medical equipment, ensuring its safety, functionality, and optimal performance for healthcare providers in the region. You will be instrumental in maintaining critical medical devices, performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting complex issues, and providing essential technical support. Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventative maintenance and calibration on a variety of medical equipment.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair equipment malfunctions, both on-site and in the workshop.
- Install, test, and commission new medical devices according to manufacturer specifications.
- Maintain accurate records of all service activities, including repairs, maintenance, and parts used.
- Provide technical support and training to clinical staff on equipment operation and basic troubleshooting.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with relevant safety standards, regulations, and company policies.
- Manage inventory of spare parts and tools, ensuring availability for timely repairs.
- Collaborate effectively with sales and administrative teams to ensure seamless customer service.
Required Skills
- Formal qualification in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics, or a related technical field.
- Proven experience in the maintenance and repair of medical equipment.
- Strong understanding of medical device regulations and safety standards.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting schematics and technical manuals.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid Australian Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with specific types of medical equipment (e.g., patient monitors, defibrillators, infusion pumps, respiratory equipment).
- Current registration or accreditation with a relevant professional body.
- Experience in a field service role.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous professional development.
