Job Description
Are you looking to kickstart a career in mechanics with no prior experience? Decathlon is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Bicycle Fleet Mechanic Trainee to join our team in Chula Vista. This is an entry-level opportunity where we will provide comprehensive training to equip you with the skills needed to assemble, maintain, and repair our rental bicycle fleet. If you have a passion for bicycles, a strong mechanical aptitude, and a desire to learn, we want to hear from you! You’ll play a crucial role in ensuring our rental bikes are safe, functional, and ready for our customers to enjoy.
Key Responsibilities
- Learn and perform the assembly of new rental bicycles according to manufacturer specifications and company standards.
- Under supervision, conduct routine maintenance checks and basic repairs on bicycle components (e.g., brakes, gears, tires, chains).
- Assist with troubleshooting and diagnosing issues with bicycles.
- Ensure all assembled and serviced bikes meet safety and quality standards before being added to the rental fleet.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in the repair shop.
- Assist with inventory management of bicycle parts and tools.
- Document maintenance and repair activities accurately.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient fleet readiness.
