Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Azure Cloud Engineer to join our dynamic team in Leicester. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and managing robust, scalable, and secure cloud solutions on the Microsoft Azure platform. You will work closely with architects, developers, and operations teams to deliver cutting-edge cloud infrastructure that supports our clients’ diverse business needs. Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable and secure Azure cloud infrastructure.
- Deploy and manage Azure services such as VMs, Azure App Services, Azure Functions, Azure SQL Database, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), and Azure Networking components.
- Develop and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates, Terraform, or Bicep.
- Monitor cloud environments for performance, security, and cost optimization, implementing necessary improvements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Azure services and infrastructure.
- Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or similar tools.
- Ensure compliance with security best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with development teams to integrate applications into Azure cloud environments.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior team members.
- Participate in on-call rotation as required.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Azure services and ecosystem.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (ARM templates, Terraform, or Bicep).
- Strong understanding of networking concepts (VPNs, VNETs, DNS, Load Balancers, Firewalls).
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
- Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python).
- Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Developer Associate, or Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification.
- Experience with hybrid cloud environments.
- Familiarity with other cloud platforms (AWS, GCP).
- Knowledge of database technologies (SQL Server, Cosmos DB).
- Experience with monitoring tools like Azure Monitor, Application Insights.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
