Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Auto Body Technician / Panel Beater to join our team in Newark, NJ. In this on-site role, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of collision repair tasks, including structural and non-structural repairs, panel replacement, and preparing vehicles for paint. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of vehicle mechanics and body repair techniques, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to quality. Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately diagnose and assess vehicle damage following industry standards and manufacturer specifications.
  • Perform structural and non-structural repairs, including frame straightening, unibody repairs, and panel replacement.
  • Conduct welding (MIG/TIG), soldering, and body filler applications with precision.
  • Prepare vehicles thoroughly for the painting process, including sanding, masking, and priming.
  • Ensure all repairs meet stringent safety standards and the vehicle is restored to its pre-accident condition.
  • Collaborate with service advisors and other technicians to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of repairs.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including safety protocols.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as an Auto Body Technician or Panel Beater.
  • Proficiency in various collision repair techniques, including frame straightening and panel replacement.
  • Skilled in welding (MIG/TIG) and body filler application.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to operate all necessary body shop equipment and tools safely.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Commitment to producing high-quality workmanship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • I-CAR certifications (e.g., Welding, Steel Structural Technician).
  • ASE certifications (e.g., B3 – Body Mechanical and Electrical Systems, B4 – Structural Analysis and Damage Repair).
  • Experience with advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) calibration.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
