Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Auto Body Technician / Panel Beater to join our team in Waco, TX. This role is crucial for restoring the structural integrity and aesthetic appearance of collision-damaged vehicles. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of automotive body repair principles, a commitment to quality workmanship, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities
- Perform accurate and timely structural and non-structural repairs on collision-damaged vehicles.
- Utilize appropriate tools and equipment to restore vehicles to manufacturer specifications.
- Diagnose and repair damage to vehicle bodies, frames, and components.
- Dismantle and reassemble vehicle parts as necessary for repair.
- Prepare vehicles for paint, including sanding, priming, and masking.
- Conduct quality checks to ensure all repairs meet company and industry standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with service advisors and other team members regarding repair status.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in metalworking, welding (MIG/TIG), and body panel repair techniques.
- Ability to operate various body shop tools and equipment (e.g., frame machine, welders, grinders).
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship.
- Familiarity with automotive repair procedures and safety protocols.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
- I-CAR certification or equivalent industry certifications.
- Experience with various vehicle makes and models.
- Previous experience in a high-volume collision repair center.
- Trade qualification or vocational training in automotive body repair.
