Job Description

As an Audit & Assurance Intern, you will contribute to critical projects, develop foundational accounting and auditing skills, and understand the intricacies of various industries. This internship is designed to provide you with practical experience, mentorship, and a clear pathway to a successful career in public accounting.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist audit teams in planning, execution, and completion of audit engagements.
- Perform substantive testing and tests of controls over financial reporting.
- Prepare working papers and documentation for audit procedures.
- Gather and analyze financial data, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Communicate effectively with team members and client personnel.
- Learn and apply relevant audit methodologies, technologies, and professional standards.
- Support the team in administrative tasks related to audit engagements.
- Participate in client meetings and observe client interactions.
Required Skills
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or a related field (e.g., Finance, Business Administration).
- Strong academic record, with a preferred GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and French (bilingualism preferred for Quebec).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Demonstrated enthusiasm for a career in public accounting and audit.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in an office environment or customer service role.
- Involvement in extracurricular activities or student organizations.
- Familiarity with accounting software or data analytics tools.
- Aspirations to pursue a Canadian CPA designation.
