Job Description
Are you passionate about the arts and music and eager to gain hands-on experience in educational program development and coordination? Middlesex Community College is seeking a motivated and creative Arts & Music Education Programming Intern to support our enriching arts and music initiatives. This internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the planning, execution, and promotion of various educational programs, workshops, and events, designed to engage students and community members of all ages. You will work closely with our experienced team, learning about curriculum development, event management, and community outreach in a supportive academic setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the research, planning, and development of new arts and music education programs and workshops.
- Support the coordination and logistics for various cultural events, performances, and educational activities.
- Help with outreach efforts to promote programs to students, local schools, and community organizations.
- Contribute to the creation of promotional materials, including flyers, social media content, and website updates.
- Assist in managing program registrations, participant communications, and feedback collection.
- Provide on-site support for events, including setup, registration, and general assistance.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute innovative ideas for program enhancement.
Required Skills
- Strong interest in arts, music, and education.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace).
- Effective written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree program in Arts Management, Music Education, Education, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- Experience with event planning or coordination, even in a volunteer capacity.
- Familiarity with social media platforms and content creation.
- Basic graphic design skills (e.g., Canva, Adobe Express) are a plus.
