Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Art Gallery Sales Assistant to join our team, specifically for our weekend roster, with a fantastic opportunity for commission earnings. This role is perfect for individuals passionate about art, customer service, and creating memorable experiences for our visitors. You’ll be the welcoming face of our gallery, assisting clients in discovering unique artworks, processing sales, and ensuring the gallery space remains inviting and beautifully presented. While previous gallery experience is a plus, we welcome passionate individuals eager to learn and grow within the arts sector; full training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Warmly greet and assist all gallery visitors, providing information about artists and artworks.
- Proactively engage with customers to understand their preferences and guide them through our collections.
- Effectively communicate the stories behind the art and artists to enhance the customer experience.
- Process sales transactions accurately using our POS system, including handling cash, credit, and layaways.
- Assist with art handling, wrapping, and preparing artworks for customer pickup or delivery.
- Maintain the cleanliness and aesthetic appeal of the gallery space, including dusting, arranging displays, and monitoring lighting.
- Support gallery events, openings, and private viewings as needed.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, encouraging repeat visits and sales.
- Assist with inventory management and tagging of new arrivals.
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment.
