Job Description

AAR Corp. is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) to join our dynamic team in Spartanburg, SC. As an AME, you will be responsible for performing maintenance, inspections, and repairs on various aircraft types, ensuring the highest standards of safety, airworthiness, and regulatory compliance. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspections, and repairs on aircraft systems, components, and structures in accordance with manufacturer specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and avionic issues, diagnosing faults and implementing effective repair solutions.
  • Document all maintenance activities accurately and thoroughly, ensuring compliance with company procedures and aviation regulations.
  • Conduct functional tests and operational checks of aircraft systems following maintenance actions.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, operational procedures, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments to ensure efficient workflow and timely project completion.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and training programs to enhance technical skills and knowledge.

Required Skills

  • Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer or equivalent role
  • Proven expertise in aircraft troubleshooting, repair, and inspection
  • Thorough understanding of FAA regulations (FARs) and airworthiness directives
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and wiring diagrams
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with specific aircraft types relevant to AAR's operations (e.g., commercial narrow-body or wide-body aircraft)
  • Additional certifications or specialized training (e.g., avionics, welding, NDT)
  • Previous experience in an MRO or airline maintenance environment
  • Associate's degree or higher in Aviation Maintenance Technology or a related field
