As an Emergency Dispatcher, you will be the vital link between the public and emergency responders, responsible for efficiently processing calls, dispatching appropriate resources, and providing critical pre-arrival instructions. Key Responsibilities

  • Receive and prioritize incoming emergency calls (911/999) from the public.
  • Accurately gather critical information from callers, often in high-stress situations.
  • Assess the nature and severity of emergencies to determine appropriate response.
  • Dispatch police, fire, and ambulance units efficiently and effectively.
  • Provide clear and concise pre-arrival instructions to callers, including CPR, first aid, or safety directives.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of all calls and dispatched units.
  • Monitor emergency radio channels and coordinate with responding units.
  • Provide support and reassurance to callers while help is en route.
  • Adhere strictly to all departmental policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Participate actively in all required training and continuous professional development.

Required Skills

  • Excellent verbal communication and active listening skills.
  • Ability to remain calm, composed, and professional in high-stress and emotional situations.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities under pressure.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications and keyboarding.

Preferred Qualifications
