Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and physically capable Brickie’s Labourer to join our dynamic construction team in Port Adelaide. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who thrives in an outdoor environment and is looking for a hands-on role in the building industry. As a Brickie’s Labourer, you will play a crucial support role to our experienced bricklayers, ensuring they have the materials and assistance needed to complete projects efficiently and to the highest standards. Full training will be provided for candidates who demonstrate a strong work ethic and willingness to learn.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting qualified bricklayers with daily tasks on construction sites.
  • Mixing mortar and concrete to required specifications.
  • Loading, unloading, and moving bricks, blocks, and other building materials.
  • Setting up and dismantling scaffolding as directed (under supervision).
  • Maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
  • Operating hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Following all site safety protocols and company policies.
  • Performing general site clean-up and waste removal.
  • Learning and adhering to construction best practices and techniques.

Required Skills

  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including heavy lifting.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
  • Willingness to learn and take direction.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Basic understanding of site safety procedures.
  • Valid White Card (Construction Induction Card) in South Australia.
  • Own reliable transport to and from site.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a similar outdoor labouring role.
  • First Aid certification.
  • Experience with basic hand tools and power tools.
  • Understanding of construction materials and processes.
