Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Commercial Bakery Delivery Driver to join our team for early morning routes out of our Waterbury distribution center. This is a full-time position offering weekly pay, responsible for safely and efficiently delivering a variety of fresh bakery products to our clients throughout the local region. You will be an essential part of our operation, ensuring our products arrive on time and in perfect condition. We value professionalism, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate company delivery vehicles (vans or small box trucks) on designated early morning routes.
- Load and unload bakery products ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
- Verify accuracy of orders against delivery manifests.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company safety regulations.
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, interacting professionally with clients.
- Maintain cleanliness of delivery vehicle and report any maintenance issues.
- Complete daily delivery logs and reports accurately.
- Assist with route planning and optimization as needed.
- Follow all food safety and hygiene protocols.
Required Skills
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs repeatedly throughout a shift.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail for order verification.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable with early morning start times (e.g., 2 AM – 4 AM).
- Punctuality and reliability are essential.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in commercial delivery or route driving.
- Knowledge of the Waterbury and surrounding Connecticut areas.
- Experience with refrigerated or temperature-controlled transport.
- High school diploma or GED.
