Job Description

Are you passionate about live events and the magic of lighting? Spectra Stage Solutions is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Lighting Tech Intern to join our team in Springwood. This is an incredible opportunity for an individual with little to no prior professional experience to gain hands-on training and immerse themselves in the fast-paced world of entertainment lighting. You will learn the fundamentals of lighting technology, equipment setup, operation, and maintenance under the guidance of experienced professionals. We are looking for someone eager to learn, detail-oriented, and ready to contribute to high-profile events.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist senior lighting technicians with the setup, rigging, and dismantling of lighting equipment at various event sites.
  • Learn to prep and test lighting fixtures, cables, and control systems in the warehouse.
  • Support the team during live events, including lamp changes, focus adjustments, and minor troubleshooting.
  • Help maintain inventory, ensuring all equipment is accounted for and in good working order.
  • Shadow experienced technicians to understand lighting design principles and console operation.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and company guidelines on and off-site.

Required Skills

  • Strong passion for live entertainment, music, and events.
  • Willingness to learn and a proactive attitude.
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately and work effectively in a team.
  • Basic understanding of tools and manual dexterity.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 20kg.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Enrolment in or completion of a relevant technical production or arts course.
  • Previous experience with general labor or event volunteering.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical safety.
